The hospital also operates a mobile clinic that is equipped with two examination rooms. It provides certain primary care services to those veterans living in remote rural and suburban areas outside of Spokane.
Providing access for enrolled veterans to the full health care benefits package is the responsibility of Spokane VA. VAMC utilizes local community health care resources and coordinates referrals for tertiary care to VAMC Portland and VA Puget Sound Health Care System. Fairchild Air Force Base, Indian Health Services for Native Americans and the Idaho and Washington State Departments of Veterans Affairs all hold sharing agreements with the 92nd Medical Group, which is responsible for the care of state home residents in Spokane. Spokane’s Veteran’s Outreach Center, located on Mirabeau Parkway, also receives administrative support from Mann-Grandstaff VAMC.
The medical center was renamed Mann-Grandstaff in 2013 to honor Medal of Honor recipients, Private First Class Joe E. Mann of Reardan, WA, who died in combat in WWII and Platoon Sergeant Bruce A. Grandstaff of Spokane, WA, who died in the Vietnam War. It now serves 30,000 veterans throughout the Central and Eastern Washington, Northern Idaho and Northwestern Montana areas every year.
